4 Tips for Bridal Show Success from a REAL Wedding Vendor

Molly Nickles is a photographer based in Ephrata, Washington and she has learned through trial-and-error what works for her business at a bridal trade show. She offers these four tips for wedding vendors looking to have a successful show experience.
- 1. Don’t be too tempted to cut your prices to increase bookings. Instead, add value to your services. For example, when a bride books right there at the show, offer a free engagement photo session as an incentive.
- 2. For a giveaway, offer one large high-quality item rather than lots of small cheap items. They will likely get thrown away. And use your social media to poll your followers on what they would prefer: an iPod? a Starbucks card? a $50 credit on their account? A spa basket?
- 3. Get to know other wedding vendors and be kind. You can only do so many weddings in a given weekend. Whether there is a mismatch in price, style, or availability, it’s always a good practice to refer to another vendor who would work better for the couple.
- 4. Be careful about following up with clients. One contact is good, a second one becomes pestering. And make sure your contacts are current. You don’t want cranky e-mails from couples who were married months ago.
